For the first time in 45 years, the Calne Music and Arts Festival was forced to cancel this year in light of the coronavirus crisis. But that doesn't mean they aren't still celebrating the artistic talents of local artists.

ART EX CALNEEach year Marden House in Calne hosts an Open Art Exhibition, showcasing the works of our local artists, the event has grown year on year and is hugely popular with art enthusiasts and collectors.

Inevitably, the organisers had to take the difficult decision to cancel the event for 2020, but in it's place they are hosting a multi-platform social media Open Art Exhibition which will be running throughout October.

They say: ' We would love to see what you have been creating over the ‘Lockdown’ period. In order to participate in this year's social media Open Art Exhibition, you will need an instragram account. Search for @calnefestival and be sure to click to follow the festival account.

Post pictures of your work and in the description underneath, please describe your work and detail whether it is for sale. Please write #cmafopen2020 and @calnefestival to ensure your images link up to the social media exhibition. All ages welcome, multiple posts are encouraged, and don’t forget to seek permission if you feature people in your images. '
The exhibition has already had some brilliant entries from many talented artists, young and not so young. Visit @calnefestival on Instagram to view the exhibition, many of the works are available to buy.
