The Springfields Academy in Calne is hosting its first Charity Golf Day on Sunday 9th June at Bowood Hotel, Golf Club and Spa.
The sold-out event supported by Platinum Motor Group, is welcoming around 50 golfers to try and battle it out on the course, all in aid of supporting children with Autism, Complex Learning difficulties and Social, Emotional and mental health needs.
Since 2015, The Springfields Academy has had to respond to cuts of over £2 Million in funding.
Jon Hamp, Head teacher explains
‘Whilst we have had to respond robustly to funding cuts, we have worked tirelessly to ensure that the ever changing needs of our children continue to be met.’
‘In today’s financial climate of rising costs and a reduction in income, we rely heavily on the charitable support of our Friends within the Springfields Fellowship, to enable us to fund the vital extras that we know, make a truly remarkable difference to children’s lives.’
‘Through our charitable work we hope to invest in new outdoor play equipment, toys, games, playground facilities and sensory items that should be standard aspects of our provision but which sadly, stringent budgets no longer facilitate.’
Alongside the Charity Golf Day, the school are hosting an online Charity Auction with some incredible lots including; an autographed Mike Tyson boxing glove, a Michael Schumacher framed and signed Ferrari montage and a 48ft Sunseeker and overnight stay for 8 people. For those of us on a budget other lots include a 1 litre bottle of gin and a three course meal at The Talbot Inn.
You can see and bid on the lots here: www.jumblebee.co.uk/springfieldsauction
More lots will be added in the runup to the Charity Golf Day on the 9th June.
