Have you noticed the new signs in Calne?
Calne has become the first town to get the new 'Great West Way' Welcome signs which were unveiled last week by the Town Mayor Cllr Glenis Ansell.
The Great West Way is a new 125-mile touring route from London to Bristol. The project focuses on creating a world class tourism experience and growing the visitor economy and transforming the visitor experience along and around the route.
The touring route is suitable for visitors to travel by car, coach, rail, cycling, walking or by boat. A range of themed itineraries and trails, including heritage, food and drink, countryside, film tourism allows visitors to explore the route in depth and aims to rival any of the great touring routes in the world.
For travellers on the A4, Calne is a great place to stop off and visit our Heritage Centre, Castlefields Canal and River Park, and learn about the rich history of our town.
