CALNE Police have issued words of advice to residents following an increase in reports of suspicious activity in our town.
Police say they have received reports from homeowners who have had visitors to their property asking for help with a pregnant woman, they ask for money or in one case a glass of water. When residents have said they'd call an ambulance, the male has run off.
There has also been a rise in reports of stolen packages from doorsteps left by delivery men.
Police are subsequently reminding resident to ensure homes are secure. A spokesperson said: "As we approach the Christmas season items and especially high value items should be stored away out of sight of any persons who may attempt to look through the windows of your home.
"Doorbell and other CCTV cameras are a great investment for your property."
