A Christmas song performed by pupils at 14 schools in and around Calne has been released this evening, 25th November 2022.

christmas songsThe video features pupils singing Out of the Ark Music's 'Child in a Manger Born' to bring some additional festive cheer to their friends, family and teachers.

This is the third Christmas celebration video, organised by Ashley Martin, Headteacher at Heddington Primary School and Andy Mitchell of Mitchell Digital Media Ltd. The idea had originally been a way to raise spirits during the Covid pandemic but the videos have been met with such enthusiasm they have continued.

Ashley Martin directed the music and liaised with the schools, whilst Andy Mitchell produced the video and graphics.

A total of 14 schools including primary, secondary, independent schools and a school that supports young people with autism, were keen to take part.

Andy said: "A big thank you to all of the students and staff at the fourteen schools and thank you to Ashley for organising the day.

"It's such a privilege to work with the young people in Calne and share some Christmas cheer with our community. Also, thank you to Out of the Ark Music for allowing us to use their song."

The video debuted at 5.30pm on Saturday 26th November as part of the Calne Christmas Festival of Lights.

Schools that took part were Heddington Primary School, Springfield’s School, St Margaret’s Prep School, St Mary’s Independent School, Derry Hill Primary School, St Nicholas Primary School, Cherhill Primary School, Holy Trinity Primary School, Fynamore Primary School, Hilmarton Primary School, Priestley Primary School, Marden Vale CofE Primary School, Saint Edmunds Primary School and Kingsbury Green Academy.
