IT'S BACK - The Calne Christmas Festival of Lights takes place this Saturday, 27th November and after a year out in 2020, it is returning with a bang.

The fun starts from 12pm and runs to 6pm and will see the return of our much loved lantern parade as well as an abundance of festive fun for all the family to enjoy.

There will be plenty to see and do , with lots of local traders stalls in the Town Hall and throughout the town plus a variety of festive entertainment and carol singing will take place throughout the day. 



Throughout the afternoon, keep your eyes peeled for The Living Lamposts standing at over 10 feet tall the Living Lamp Posts are a marvellous moving display of ornate light and colour.

Living Lamp Posts Image2The Living Snow Globe will also be out and about, a beautifully detailed winter wonderland scene contained inside a twinkling, illuminated snow globe, you may even see a Snow Queen!


The grotto is open in Calne Town Hall to visit Santa, sponsored by Chilvester Financial

Opening times are 1.00 - 2.00

3.05 - 4.00

5.30 - 6.00

*The grotto will also be open on Thursday and Friday from 3.30 to 4.30pm.

Jennings Fair will be in the lower Sainsbury's car park .

The lantern parade will leave from Bremhill View at 4.30pm and will arrive in town at about 5pm .


12pm - Welcome-Stalls are open within the Town Hall

12pm-12:45pm & 1:30pm-2:15pm - Jam duo - Enjoy the calming of the Town Hall.

12pm-12:55pm & 2:05pm-3pm - Drag Queen Story UK! Join the fabulous Aida H Dee in the Council Chamber of the Town Hall for story telling and fun.

12:45pm-1:30pm - Rotary Club of Chippenham will be accompanied by Jules Addison, with fun festive tunes. Located upstairs at the Town Hall.

1pm-2pm, 3:05pm-4pm & 5:20pm-6pm - Santa's Grotto! Visit Father Christmas as he spends the day with us in Calne, located in the Council Chamber of the Town Hall. £l per child.

1pm -Dancing Academy - Enjoy some energetic moves from Dancing Academy, as they perform at Market Place.

1pm, 2:15pm & 5:15pm - The Living Lamp posts-Over 10ft tall, marvel over these ornate moving light & colour entertainers. - Various locations around town.

1pm, 2:30pm & 3:30pm - Norwegian Cooking Demonstration-Join Becky's Bakeri, as she shows you how to cook traditional Risengrynsgrot-you may even get to try some-Corn exchange of the Town Hall

1:45pm. 2pm & 4:15pm- Living Snow Globe - This unique act of splendour will melt even the frostiest of hearts-Various locations around town

2 pm - Dancing Academy - Enjoy some energetic moves from Dancing Academy, as they perform at The Pocket Park

4:30pm - Lantern Parade leaves Bremhill View arrival in the Town Centre is est 5pm Christmas tree & Sleigh Switch on with fireworks finale.
