Kingsbury Green Academy have confirmed that another student has tested positive for Covid-19.
As a result of a positive test, the school have taken the precautionary measure of sending all Year 8 pupils home to self isolate for 14 days.
Pupils have been asked to stay at home until 26th October, returning to school after the half term on the 2nd November.
Tomorrow is the last day of term for all year groups and the school will continue to operate as usual for all other year groups.
Kingsbury Green have been working with PHW who have been on hand to ensure that they take every possible measure to act quickly in securing the safety of pupils and staff.
A statement from the school reads:
We were informed today of a positive COVID-19 test result for a pupil in Y8. We have followed the COVID-19 Early Outbreak Management procedure and liaised with Public Health Wiltshire, who have directed all subsequent actions to manage the situation.
As a precautionary measure, we have been advised to self-isolate all pupils in Y8. At this point, no other Year Group is affected. The school’s safety measures have ensured that pupils from different year groups have been kept apart e.g. through separate breaks and lunches and we continue to maintain all systems of control to protect those pupils. The school will continue to operate as normal for the final day of term for all other year groups based on the advice of PHW. It is important to note that this is an isolated case where school is not the source of the infection.
